A MESSAGE FROM
During our historic 50th anniversary season, we have tried to offer a variety of exciting programs that highlight the talents of our orchestra, conductor and guest soloists. We were very pleased with attendance and responses we received for our September, October and December concerts, and we look forward to our remaining performances on February 16 and March 30.
Having done some research, I am convinced that David Fetler may very well hold the world record for longevity with an orchestra. I had originally assumed that he tied the record of Arthur Fielder, the late legendary conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra. However, I discovered that Fiedler actually conducted the BPO for 49 years, which places David Fetler in the record-holding position.
As we continue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, and David Fetler's historic tenure as the orchestra's founder and music director, I hope you will attend our remaining two concerts.
Our February 16 concert will feature guest-conductor Gerard Floriano. He continues to distinguish himself on the international stage, and he recently received rave reviews for the newly formed Finger Lakes Opera Company. In addition, he continues his role as professor of music at SUNY Geneseo. He has an exciting program lined up for us.
Our March 30 concert will conclude our anniversary season, and will feature David Fetler on the podium with an exciting blend of orchestral and solo repertoire. Along with the extra programming for our 50th anniversary season came additional expenses as well. It is my hope that you will consider the possibility of making a tax-deductible contribution to the Rochester Chamber Orchestra. Your contribution will help us to finish our historic season, in addition to helping us plan for the 2014-2015 season and beyond. Making a contribution can be done on-line by simply clicking onto 'SUPPORT' at our website (www.rochesterchamberorchestra.org).
You may also mail your contributions to: Rochester Chamber Orchestra, 180 Sunnyside Drive, Rochester, New York 14623.
Thank you for your support and please continue to attend our concerts.
