Welcome to our website.

I am writing this one day following the highly successful performance of Handel' s Messiah, which has become an annual event for us. Last night was historic at two levels:

1.) It was the final performance for David Fetler as Music Director of the RCO, following 51 remarkable years, and;

2.) It marks the beginning of Gerard Floriano' s role as the RCO' s new Music Director.

As part of our reorganization process, we elected to suspend concert activity for the time being, so that we will have sufficient time to plan new directions. It will be an opportunity for us to evaluate the types of concerts that will resonate well with Rochester audiences. We hope to honor the past by bringing you works and composers that have been popular during the past 51 years, in addition to exploring musical genres that will attract newcomers as well.

David Fetler has kindly agreed to assume the role of Conductor Laureate. In this capacity, it is our intention to have him conduct the annual performance of Handel' s Messiah.

Last night' s attendance was a strong indication that audience members want this tradition to continue. Board members and Gerard Floriano will be conducting regular meetings to plan for the future.

In the meantime, your financial support will ensure that performances by the Rochester Chamber Orchestra will continue to be an important part of Rochester' s cultural scene.

If you are not already on our mailing list, and wish to be informed of future concerts, please send your request to 123 Inglewood Drive, Rochester, NY 14619 or contact us by email. Thank you for your continued support of the Rochester Chamber Orchestra. Stay tuned for exciting concerts to come. Sincerely,

Ray Grosswirth
